Volunteer Roles

Volunteering at the market is a great way to meet new people, contribute to the community and help to make the market a success. It's also a lot of fun! You don't need to be available all day or all year.  Full training and support will be provided.

If you'd like to get involved, especially if can spare a couple hours on the day, we'd love to hear from you. Either complete the volunteer application form or drop us a line. We'll be delighted to hear from you!

Here are some potential volunteer roles for Heighington Christmas Market:

Pre-Market Setup

• Vendor Recruitment: Contacting and recruiting local businesses and artisans.

• Market Planning: Assisting with the overall planning and organisation of the market.

• Site Preparation: Setting up stalls, tables, and decorations.

• Logistics: Coordinating the delivery and setup of equipment and supplies.

Market Day

• Greeter: Welcoming visitors and providing information about the market.

• Stall Attendant: Assisting vendors with sales and customer inquiries.

• Traffic Control: Directing foot traffic and ensuring smooth flow.

• Security: Monitoring the market for any issues or concerns.

• Entertainment Coordinator: Overseeing live music, performances, and children's activities.

• Food and Drink Service: Assisting with serving food and drinks.

• Cleanup Crew: Cleaning up litter and debris throughout the day and after the market closes.

Post-Market Cleanup

• Breakdown: Disassembling stalls, tables, and decorations.

• Waste Removal: Removing rubbish and recycling.

• Equipment Storage: Storing equipment for future use.

By recruiting and organising a team of volunteers, we can ensure a successful and enjoyable Christmas market for everyone.
