The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all charitable activities connected with the Village Christmas Market are carried out in a fair, transparent, and responsible manner, and that funds raised are used for the benefit of the local community or chosen charitable causes.
Any money raised through charitable stalls, raffles, or collections must go directly to the nominated charity or community project.
Organisers and volunteers will not personally benefit from funds raised, except for reimbursement of reasonable expenses agreed in advance.
Each year, the Christmas Market Committee (or equivalent organising group) will select one or more charities to support.
Preference will be given to local charities, community groups, or causes that benefit residents of the village and surrounding area.
A record will be kept of money raised and how it has been distributed.
A summary of the fundraising total and recipient charities will be shared with the community (e.g. via noticeboard, parish newsletter, or social media).
Only approved charities may run fundraising activities at the market.
All collections and raffles must comply with relevant local regulations and licenses.
Stalls raising money for charity should clearly display the name of the charity and, where appropriate, its registered charity number.
This policy will be reviewed annually by the organising committee to ensure it remains fit for purpose.
